Jane- 3 years, 7 months
Jane has started "reading" some of her favorite books. I love that she uses inflection in her voice and changes her tone for the different characters. :)
I'm starting to see some weirdness come out in Jane and I LOVE it. The other night I endured the headache and noise (for a good 5 minutes) when she spun around in circles in the kitchen singing/screaming at the top of her lungs, "Iiiiiiit's my BIRSday! Iiiiiiit's my BIRSday!"
We left Jane last weekend with friends and have decided we should do it at least once a year. She's been SO sweet to us since we got back! She even tells us she loves us randomly throughout the day.
I learned while making Valentine's with Jane a few days ago that she can write all of her letters. When helping her write her name with the letters in order she'd almost always write her A upside down. She didn't do it when writing them by themselves but after writing her J she would start back up at the top and already have made the V shape before she realized she was doing it upside down. Although, she did recognize it and point it out every. single. time. and then just add the slash across the middle like it was no big deal. I'm SO glad she's not a perfectionist who gets mad and has to start over when she messes up. This will help alot in our schooling over the next few years... with her learning and with my patience. ;)
Cora- 17 months
Cora has started "reading" too. Her favorite is Brown Bear. She still doesn't notice and turn the book right side up though if she's looking at it upside down, which is interesting to me. She is a smart girl but has to want to do what we're asking her in order to do it. So, if you catch her at a good time where she wants to pay attention, she'll point out all of the animals correctly on the last page.
Cora says "daint do" every. single. time. you give her something. It's so precious.
Anytime we ask Cora who made her she replies with a short, emphatic, "God." You'll see in the video below, that's the question I ask that gets cut off. What I love about this is when I ask, "Who made you beautiful?" or "Who made you cute?" or "Who made you smart?" She always answers, "God." :)
Cora knows all of her body parts on her face, her hands, toes and belly button. She also knows the animal sounds for a dog, cat, sheep, fish and bear (although she hardly ever does that one). We're working on what the mermaid says. ;) I'll have to post a video once she'll do it back to me.

Makes me smile to think of Jane-girl being silly.
Loved hearing Ian's little "everyting" when you first asked the question about what did God make.
Can't believe Cora is big enough to be a talker.
Wish I could come and hang out with your kiddos.
